Harold Scott presented Student of the Month to Kyann Flint. Her parents are Ted and Janette Flint. Counselor is Steve Wiley. She has or will have taken 6 advanced placement classes. Kyann has been on two mission trips. Is part of 412 youth ministries. She is an MDA Ambassador for Whatcom County, and the ASB president of her high school.

  • Leena Kirschman – Lost good friend to colon cancer. Voted "Board member of the year" for Boys & Girls Club.
  • Marla Sanger – Missed meetings. Crazy work schedule. Father-in-law broke hip, mom had surgery but everyone is getting better.
  • Curtis Smith – Bell ringing story and purchased his own bell.

  • Bryant Engebretson - Missed meetings. Skied 28 times in 25 days in January.

  • Volunteer Lawyer Program established in 1986 – 80% of Bar members participated.
  • 472 lawyers in Whatcom County – 8th largest in WA.
  • 200 lawyers volunteer in Whatcom County which is highest % in WA over last 5 or 6 years.
  • Volunteered 1320 hours in 2009 which equals $265k of legal services provided.
  • Law Day transitioned to Law Advocates of Whatcom County.
  • Street Law – 3 hours every other Saturday.
  • Efforts to try to teach law in schools and inform the community of their civil rights.
  • Held a previous law forum and plans to have a second one discussing initiative process.
  • County spends much more on civil proceedings vs. criminal.
