Program
Anna introduced Mark McCampbell, Chief Development Officer at Peacehealth Bellingham.  He serves on both the Hospice and Hospital boards.  Before coming to Bellingham to Peacehealth three years ago, Mark served as development director of Seattle Symphony.  Mark has been a wonderful fit for us and the community.

Mark said Peacehealth's main goal is healing; a promise that aligns with Peacehealth's mission and values.

Mark talked about the Comprehensive Cancer Program.  Some statistics:  We have an aging population here in Whatcom County with 15% people over the age of 65.  We have excellent cancer care here; a 10% better survival rate compared to nationally.

Mark took us on a virtual (verbal) tour of the new cancer care center that demonstrated the community's generosity in making the building a reality. The project cost about $23M, of which over $10M came from donated private sources!

Respectfully submitted,
