Bill Geyer and the membership committee recommends four new applicants for membership.  Before they are approved, these names will be circulated in the Soundings for two weeks to solicit concerns or comments.  The four applicants are:

  1. Mike Bates - sponsored by Bob Becker - retired Kraft Foods executive;
  2. Nick Caples - sponsored by Christine Palmerton - manager of Bellingham Bells;
  3. Brian Pritchett - sponsored by Stan Dyer & John Barry - independent insurance agent associated with Farmers’ Insurance;
  4. Dale Collins - sponsored by Bob Moles - manager at the Parkway Chateau retirement center.

Presentation:  Whatcom Volunteer Center: Sue Ellen Heflin-Director, Christina Van Wingerden-Board Member, www.whatcomvolunteer.org.  Whatcom Volunteer Center started as a service to seniors, and now serves the Food Bank, NW Youth Services, Project Warm Up, Homeless 2 House, and other programs.
