New Member Talks
  • Marla Bourm: Marla thanks to fellow book club member Donna for introducing her to Rotary. Marla was born in Edmonton, Alberta, moved to Bellingham and worked at Whatcom County courthouse, then decided to get an accounting education so she attended WCC and then WWU to receive her degree in accounting.  Her first job was for Moss Adams, and then after a few years she opened her own practice.  She has a home office on Lake Whatcom, with five other employees.  Thanks Orphalee, Dennis and Harte for being mentors and always helping her when she needs it.
  • Dale Collins was also born in Canada (Manitoba), and worked in life insurance for over 47 years.  Then he moved to Abbotsford BC, where he first joined Rotary. He and his wife have 4 boys and 7 grandkids - the kids live in Bellingham, Abbotsford and Iowa.  After a few years of semi-retirement, he and wife now manage the "pink palace" retirement center (Parkway Chateau).
  • Dean Fulton was born in CA but grew up in Lakewood, WA, attending Lakewood HS and then UW.  He is a proud Husky. Graduated in '91 then went to work for Boy Scouts of America in Aberdeedn, WA, then BSA of Olympia as fundraiser. After some other stints in South Puget Sound area, last year he was hired on as the Executive Director of the Foundation at Bellingham Technical College.  Bellingham is the kind of town he had always wanted to move to.  He and wife have two boys, aged nine and two.  This will be his 5th Rotary club, and he is a third generation Rotarian!
Respectfully submitted,
Stowe Talbot
