  • Bill Geyer of Membership Committee said Rotary membership has two goals "Reach one, keep one".  That means we need to recruit new members, and also reach out to existing members to keep them engaged in the club.
  • Eddie said crab feed is in two days at his house 5-8pm.
  • Grape and Gourmet committee is forming now, please see Christine especially if you have not yet served on this committee before.
  • John Templeton will be organizing a fellowship wine-tasting event at Mt Baker Winery, details forthcoming.
Membership committee and board have approved two new member applications:
  • Paul Twedt - Sponsored by Lesa Boxx with additional references by Harold Scott, Karen Haggen and Lance Calloway.  Paul is the Managing Director of Northwestern Mutual in downtown Bellingham.  He is a member of the Bellingham Christian Scholl Board, the NAIFA Northwest Executive Board (an industry related trade group), and is active in the Chamber of Commerce.  Paul is an alum of WSU and holds various professional certifications.  Interests include golf, soccer and snowboarding. Paul resides in Bellingham with his wife Kym.  Classification would be Life Insurance. 
  • W.M. (Skip) Sailors - Sponsored by Bob Moles.  Skip previously served in the Bellingham Rotary Club for 20 years (1980-1999).  He now has time to return to active membership status and wishes to provide his community service in the Bellingham Bay Club.  Skip is a Professor Emeritus at WWU and is a CPA.  Interests include fishing, stock market investing and target shooting.  Skip and his wife Joan reside in south Bellingham.  Classification would be Senior Active.

  • John Templeton had great weekend with kids who came up from Seattle, saw Heart at Lynden Fair;
  • Lance held a hot yard sale in Yakima, also he is soon bringing junior hockey back to Bellingham - needs home-stays for visiting teams October-March (ages 16-19 years old);
  • Denise Bosman $100 for missed meetings, moving daughter out of the house (she got married a few weekends ago!);
  • Bob Moles extends invitation to all to go to New Zealand April 21-May 8 with other Bellinghamsters;
  • Ellen Sheen for the arrival of brand new daughter Wilson, thanks to Stan for filling in!
  • Scot Swanson 5th wedding anniversary, Sounders game, then to Whistler;
  • Doug Wight commends Jim Johnson for his work on child slavery issues, also looking forward to Hospice Pro-Am golf tournament this Friday at Padden;
  • Dr. Curt Smith had busy few weeks buying new house (special thanks to John Templeton for helping guide him through the process);
  • Mark Turner had fun teaching photography at N. Cascades Institute, also camping with his kids.
