Program
Dannon introduced Gene Goldsmith, a local veteran (service in the Air Force in Vietnam), with deep ties to the community.  He said Jim Pace runs the local vet organizations:  Vietnam Veterans Association (155 members, meet monthly for dinner) and the Bellingham Vet Center, two important resources for local vets.  Gene volunteers for this organization, driving their van to transport vets to appointments. He talked about his frustration for the intransigent bureaucracy at the Federal Veterans Administration.  Gene recommends donating to the local vet chapters rather than the federal office.
