    Program

Mary Humphries & Brad Tuininga  - Bellingham Technical College

Mary has been raising funds for BTC for 3 ½ years.  State funding for BTC is down 20% despite enrollment being up 20%.  Their funding is based on # of enrolled students however the enrollment numbers that are used are several years old thus BTC underfunded.   They have a reserve that has been instrumental in retaining staff and sustaining programs.

BTC has open enrollment meaning students must pass minimum reading, writing and math standards.  There is a diverse student population with the average age being 28.  BTC offers 34 programs and certificates.

Mary and Brad are excited about the new Campus Center which will be 70,000 square feet and hold a new library, bookstore, student union and several classrooms.  There are a number of ways to contribute to BTC, please contact Mary or Brad for more info.

    Respectfully submitted,
    Chris White
